Adopt a Rottweiler / Boxer

Elvis is a 2 year old male neutered all American dog. He may have some Rottweiler, some boxer, some shepherd, and a few other things mixed in there. He found himself at Miami Dade Animal Services and was lucky enough to catch the eye of and be fostered by a "Rottweiler at heart person," saving him from near euthanasia. He turned into a very sweet and affectionate boy who loves to hang out with his people and go for long walks.

Elvis was initially very protective of his crate and any enclosure that he happened to be in. After being in foster for 6 months, he has improved immensely in that department. However he does still guard his own personal belongings as well as food, so he will need an owner committed to continuing to work with him so he feels more comfortable and less on edge once he's home. Unfortunately he has had several negative encounters with other dogs since being rescued, and would therefore probably do best as an only dog. In fact, we know that he will be quite happy as an only dog. BUT, we may consider a meet and greet with a laid back female dog, since, all dogs are individuals and occasionally they do surprise us in regards to who they do and do not tolerate. We have no history of him in regards to cats. And finally, we will not place him into a home with children, as Elvis deserves his space and respect and that is too much to ask of a family with kids.

Elvis knows how to walk appropriately on a gentle leader head collar, how to sit, how to shake, and how to lay down. He also knows how to comfortably wear a basket muzzle for veterinary exams. Oh, and he is crate trained and House trained too! Elvis's future adopter will receive one free session under RotNDog Training & Behavior Consulting in addition to discounted follow up sessions. He's a special boy looking for a special home, which he is way overdue for.
